Even if a guy is put on IL your service may lag before they give him the designation. Rare Kudos to ESPN for giving obvious IL guys O designations allowing them to be put on IL. I'm sure I will have to deal with the opposite on CBS. They seemed to get slower last year. The way a thread like this can help is if we see the official IL designation sooner, we can judge if it is worth trying to get the move in soon enough for just give upon it.

cornerback
general question. when do teams have to put their players on IL? lets say in case of the yankees. they play early tomorrow. so 1 hour before start of the game? when they have to put out their official batting order? or could they put a player (rodon) later on IL. when the game already started. Anytime before 1st pitch of your game. Teams that play later have up until their own 1st pitch.

TribeFoo
I'm not even sure if most people know the "O" designation in ESPN allows you to go ahead and IL a player. Do it!
posty
For those that complain every year, just because Rotoworld (or someone else) says that "player A has been placed on the DL", doesn't mean that the team has officially submitted the paperwork to Major League Baseball... Once MLB gets the paperwork placing said player on the DL, then the stat provider will get that information and pass it on to the consumer to make roster updates accordingly... That is what Yahoo has been doing for years, and they will not change that method... 1

Stogies
I don't understand what teams get out of waiting until the last minute when the player is absolutely going on the IL before the first pitch of the season.
to_be_quite_frank
Latest update on Liam Hendricks is he could be back before the end of May 👀 If he's out there I would pounce. And a great story to root for  White Sox GM Rick Hahn said Liam Hendriks (cancer) will not be placed on the 60-day IL to begin the season. Advice: The White Sox aren't putting any timetable on Hendriks' return from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, but it sure seems like there's some hope that he'll be back before the end of May. Kendall Graveman and Reynaldo López rate as the favorites for saves in the White Sox pen for now. More: Scott Merkin (NBCSportsEDGE.com) .
