jtbgator
Mods, adjust if too AC. Thought it would be helpful to start this thread for us FAAB gents. This is assuming $100 season long budget. 0.5 PPR 12 team league. Lots of decent names here in week 1. But for me, not a stand out name that I'd bid a healthy amount on. My approach for week 1 is to bid conservatively on a few names and hold budget until mid season until someone pops. Lots of FF owners tend to overreact after week 1 and overbid and rage drop. That said, here's my short list for week 1, in priority order. Chances are I won't win any of them but heck, gotta try. Khalil Herbert $4 Jaylen Warren $4 Curtis Samuel $3 Jahan Dotson $2 Taysom Hill $1 Rex Burkhead $1 Dontrell Hilliard $1 Tyler Higbee $1 Koo $0 Joseph $0 York $0 LAR D $0 (ATL, at ARI, at SF, DAL, CAR, bye, SF) CIN D $0 (at DAL, at NYJ, MIA, at BAL, at NO, ATL, at CLE, CAR) PIT D $0 (NE, at CLE, NYJ, at BUF, TB, at MIA, at PHI) Dudes I passed on: Peoples Jones Kyle Phillips Greg Dortch Logan Thomas Gerald Everett (want him but have Justin Herbert and Ekler; too many LAC)

ajs723
Agree with OP. There's nothing worth blowing a bunch of FAAB on. There isn't a single guy that I trust to be a solid fantasy contributor all season. A bunch of WR3 and TE wasteland guys, and a few hope and pray RBs.
The Dirtdog
Samuel should be pushing $15-20. You can bud $3 all day but you won’t even come close.
YoungDro
It's my first time playing FAAB, what is an appropriate amount to bid for Samuel? I have a hole at WR2 and flex so he'd be a plug and play. It's my leagues first time with FAAB as well so any insight into how new FAAB players tend to bid would be appreciated
Pooskay
Bids all depend on need and risk. Those who bid high (like myself) last year with Eli Mitchell probably reaped the rewards all season long. Question is, who's that player this year???

My bids represent that. Perspective: Dude I'm playing this week lost Dak, Eli Mitchell, Keenan, Godwin Word

If you see someone you think is a long term add you go get him. Even if it creates redundancies. Worst case scenario it will put you in a position of strength and you can make trades to address bigger needs. Full disclosure, I don't see any absolutely must adds this week. I'd let everyone else waste their FAB on Wilson. Edited September 13, 2022 by jmcampbe11

There’s no wrong strategy so long as you get what you want. Personally, I don’t agree with casting a wide net & putting in small bids on a large group of players. I target players that I think will continue to perform & bid aggressively. I don’t get hung up on overbidding against my league mates. Most of them will sit on their FAAB waiting for a perfect situation that never comes.

jbarretta
I always end my bid in 9's and it has worked well for me. My philosophy is if I like a guy a $20 why not bid $29. It has won me players many times this way over teams bidding a few bucks under me, $27 for example (which for some reason I see a lor) I feel like Samuel is $29 pick in $150 to $200 faab leagues. He has a very real chance to get 50 carries imo Edited September 13, 2022 by jbarretta 1
lvsaint429
FWIW…I put 19 on Samuel out of 200 🤞 11 targets, 8 catches, 4 rushes…seems worth it but someone will probably go higher 2

dfstout
I'm passing on Samuel because he can't stay healthy unfortunately. Other league members feel the same way so the bid will be low. In other leagues he will be in the 16-22 range Mine you can prob get him for 6-10 Total FAAB is 100* Edited September 14, 2022 by dfstout

Was even thinking $30 to shore up the roster. Hard to find these types players mid way through the season. I find the first few weeks are the best to claim.
Evincar
If you're looking for immediate RB help its Burkhead, for long term upside its Warren.
sSektor
Mitchell owner. I'm passing on Jeff and just putting $1 in on TDP to see if there's anything there. Mason getting zero attempts after the Mitchell injury gives me bad vibes. Edited September 14, 2022 by sSektor

hangin n wangin
Someone dropped Schultz in my league after the Dak injury. I have Njoku and want to bid on Schultz. I know I want him. I hoping 20 does it. Does that seem like a good bid?
