The G Man
Well, that's quite the payday. How we feeling about Kyler now that his pockets have gotten a little heavier? Cardinals signed QB Kyler Murray to a five-year, $230.5 million contract extension. Murray's deal includes $160 million guaranteed and gives Murray the second-highest paid quarterback average salary at $46.1 million per year. Murray was electric in early 2021 before an ankle injury and the absence of DeAndre Hopkins appeared to impact his play down the stretch. Hopkins will miss the first six games of 2022, but Murray's Oklahoma running mate Marquise Brown should help the newly extended quarterback start the season hot. Murray is now signed through 2028 with HC Kliff Kingsbury signed through 2027. The Cardinals are likely to have frustrating, horizontal raid lows, but with Murray under center, they have upside to develop into an elite offense once Hopkins returns to the lineup. JE7HorseGod
At QB5 and 59 overall I'm not feeling it. Would rather have Hurts, Brady, or Lance later or Jameis or Ryan much later. Everyone between Allen and Hurts doesn't have much appeal for me, would rather use those picks at other positions.

Joe Mama
chances of Arizona winning a super bowl paying Murray that kind of money are less than zero.
JE7HorseGod
I think it's time to have a "quarterback only" cap and a "non qb" cap for every team.

Breesus
Defense is looking like it’s going to take a big step back on paper. 13/17 games are in a dome this year for the Cardinals. Kyler has improved in every QB metric each season in the league. Seems like a recipe for a top 5 QB season. 1

This is a fantasy football forum, we don't care about real life game results. He returned from injury week 13. From weeks 13-17 he was QB4 overall, QB5 in PPG. He only had Hopkins for 2 of those games, and now they've added Hollywood Brown as well. So... He was already top 5 'late season' last year, and now we expect him to have both Hopkins and Hollywood. Just because I was curious: In 2020, from weeks 9-16 he was QB4 overall, QB6 in PPG. 3

I used the term “crapped the bed” 💩🛏 because the first half of the season he looks like an mvp candidate, the second half of the season he gets dinged up and doesn’t play or he collapses under pressure. Yes, he was without Nuke for a couple of games but other QBs lose a weapon and don’t completely collapse. hopefully the additions of marquis brown and Darrell Williams can help Kyler find more consistency in the 2nd half of the season, when the fantasy playoffs happen. Breesus
He’s 24 years old with a history of improving every single year. We should expect progression not regression

We should expect progression not regression That’s the hope. Nobody is questioning the talent. He has MVP level talent. He is a bit undersized for a QB and has gotten dinged up through the 1st half of the season. I’m hoping he stays healthy for the full season so we can see his progression in the 2nd half of the season now that he will have weapons like Deandre Hopkins, Marquis Brown, Zach Ertz, and Rondale Moore to throw to.
owenmills
If the midget stays healthy his numbers won't drop off later in the year. SyNdicateZ
2 ways of getting a generational wealth contract in the NFL. 1:) Complety suck in a playoff game the year prior and have won nothing so far... 2:) Allegedly sexually abuse women

With his propensity to run and his small frame he always gets injured. Shoulders, feet, his body just isn't built to take hits but his playstyle inevitably leads to getting hit. There's a reason he drops off the face of the earth in the second half and it's because he accumulates running back ticky tack injuries that other guys avoid. 2020 he killed his shoulder, and 2021 he killed his ankle. Same injury in 2021 contributed (partially) to Hurts' drop off.
SyNdicateZ
The team has a clause in Murrays contract that forces him to watch game film or study. So basically Murray doesnt like or has not studied enough off the field and in a class setting so the team feels they needed it be part of his contract.. WOW This is the first time a qb had this as part of a contract.... Kyler simply doesnt like to watch film and is forced to per mike florio Edited July 25, 2022 by SyNdicateZ
