Tee Higgins 2022 Outlook

FantasyPros has Higgins current ADP as the WR12, which seems high to me. I get that Burrow and Cincy is going to produce a high-volume, high-octane passing offense, but it still seems ambitious. That said, he did rank 14th in my half-PPR league in 2021, so maybe the natural progression for him would be to threaten WR1 status.

Bummer he's on the same team as Chase. Would be a top 5ish WR if he were on most other teams. Probably won't end up with either.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see both being WR1s, but I do agree...Higgins is good enough to be a pushing for the top 5.

I think this is another case of people who are saying he's overpriced haven't really looked at who else is available. At fantasypros they have tier 3 of WRs as follows :

  • 10 - AJ Brown
  • 11 - Tee Higgins
  • 12 - Keenan Allen
  • 13 - Michael Pittman
  • 14 - DK Metcalf
  • 15 - Terry McLaurin
  • 16 - DJ Moore

I think that's pretty spot on. I might move him up and take him over AJ Brown too. Keenan is attractive in that offense but he's 30 now. Pittman I could see people liking, but he's in a run heavy offense with a conservative QB. DK is a stud but has Drew Lock throwing to him(puke). I guess the knock on Tee is it's too high for a guy who's the WR2 on his team, but who's to say he doesn't have a year equal to or slightly better than Chase? I think he's extremely talented. If you want to knock Tee down a few spots based on personal preference I could see but I definitely don't think he's way overpriced.

I absolutely don't have a problem with him in this tier.   Not one of those guys except for maybe Allen is a guy I feel like will cash most weeks.  Metcalf's a pipe dream to do more with a league worst QB situation, we've already seen TWO years of Moore not being able to overcome horrid QB play. McLaurin and Pittman will be hit or miss, and AJB I do think I'd tick above Higgins, but given the same decision twice I take each guy once apiece.

Its not out of the question for him to be the Bengals WR1 this season. Chase is going to draw a ton of coverage and this offense can support two high end WRs.

yes it is. Unless Chase gets injured

Not much talk about him on these forums. A lot of talk about him in training camp and practice since he got back from injury. He averaged 8 targets a game and I could even see it rising this year. He was one of the most targeted receivers in the end zone last season. This was with an injured shoulder throughout most of the season and two missed games. Came back and balled out the rest of the season and averaged over 100yds a game in the playoffs. This guy is a monster. I could see him putting up bigger fantasy numbers than jamar this year.

Could end up being a steal at his ADP.

His 14 games last season would of been  90-1,325-7 in a 17 gamer. He was good in the playoffs outside of the first round as well putting up 7/96,6/103,and 4/100 2tds in the round 2-superbowl..  Figure the Bengals offense was run heavy the early part of the season due to Burrows injury that adds more upside to what he could do. Hes going into just year three as well so still ascending in his career.

Hes my fav WR in the late 2nd round. I'm drafting him over Hill/Brown/Pittman and I like all of those guys as well!

I’m eyeing him at the 3.3 spot. He’s available there in most mock drafts.

I like Pittman a lot this year so I have him a spot over Tee. I don’t know how to rank Tyreek compared to him. It’s close. I like AJB a lot also but I have Tee slightly above him.

I like Tee over Keenan, Deebo and Mike Evans.

Would take him over Allen for sure. Close with Evans. But Deebo is so elite in his versatility as a playmaker as the number one guy for San Fran. Hard to justify Higgins over him. However, I’m a fan of Higgins and am drafting him in leagues

Tee over Kee is a little wild.

Allen is a baller for sure but Higgins I personally feel that Higgins has much better odds of dominating in the end zone and racking up TDs. Top CBs have to be on Chase and Higgins is dominant at going up and snatching the ball. Allen is getting older, injuries have been wracking up, and he’s never been a big TD scorer. He has excellent route running and has an excellent floor in PPR, but I can’t help but to be more enticed by Higgins greater ceiling.

Exactly, we split hairs on the decisions among players of the same tier, but it all comes down to a variety of factors which I like to simplify into 3 categories for quick decisions in drafts.

1. Talent

2. Situation / opportunity

3. Age / Career arc / injury history

Higgins is plus in all of these categories. Unquestioned talent, great measureables. Target leader with a great QB and strong skill players so defenses cannot key in on him. He's only 23.

I love drafting guys with this sort of profile because we likely haven't seen his best football and he is already very productive.

I cannot argue with the fantasy pros consensus of Higgins at WR11 and might even take Higgins over AJ Brown just because there are less variables with his situation (not to mention better QB). And I love Keenan Allen and all, but it's extremely likely we've seen his best football and it's only a matter of time before he falls off that inevitable cliff.

Keenan is the kind of guy that will probably slowly decline. Some of the advanced metrics havent been good the last couple of years. But yeah Higgins over KA is a no brainer for me.
