Keeper Conundrum: Who to pair with Jokic next year?

Recommended Posts

Trying to get a jump on this while the forums are still fairly active 👀

I have Jokic in a 9-cat keeper league, and I have a few interesting options to consider pairing him with. I'd love to hear some feedback!

Kyrie - Best option from a per-game viewpoint, but I really hate the headache that comes with his injury history.

Butler - Probably the 2nd best player on the team, but similar to Kyrie, I really hate how often he's hurt.

Vucevic - Safe, reliable... boring? Also feels slightly redundant in that he's kind of a mini-Jokic.

Garland - Had a great season, but it was without Sexton being around for most of it. Can he replicate or improve next year?

Klay - Can he get back to the form of seasons past?

Scottie Barnes - Most intriguing option for me. Heavy hometown bias, but the kid has been phenomenal as a rookie. I may be too optimistic regarding forecasted growth next season. Someone talk me out of it?

The rest - Tobias Harris, Gordon Hayward, D'Angelo Russel, Tyrese Maxey

I'd love to hear some input! Thanks!

Butler would be the undeniable choice if his availability was better. Because of that, he gets the slight nod.

I would say that Garland would be my next choice though. I say this because during this coming FA, Cleveland will have to commit to Sexton or let him walk. And I think they do the latter with Caris Levert there. I can't see them trying to position their team for the future with both of their players in the starting backcourt at 6-1.

I hope you're right and CLE lets Sexton go. If that happens it's going to be MUCH more difficult to ignore Garland in favour of Jimmy.

Thanks for the feedback!
