Brewers might have another one, SP- Brandon Knarr

Ripped from The Athletic brewers prospect notes:

"Earlier this week, Milwaukee promoted Knarr from Wisconsin to Biloxi. Signed as an undrafted free agent in 2020, Knarr racked up 65 strikeouts in 57 1/3 innings with a 1.57 ERA with Wisconsin. In his first Double-A start, Knarr allowed one run, five hits and two walks in six innings with eight strikeouts.

Knarr, 24, has a good fastball, curveball and changeup, but what’s also worth pointing out is that he’s known throughout the organization as someone who is into movement within his arsenal, analytics and overall knowledge of pitching. Knarr pitched for Division II Tampa after a stint at Notre Dame, and in him, the Brewers may have found another nice under-the-radar find."

“The numbers are backed up by what you see,” Flanagan said, “and that’s someone really throwing the ball well.”

Adrian Pinto TOR. Acquired by Toronto in the Grichuk deal. 19 year old in A ball started out rough but he's really been killing it now. Talking elite speed here with a solid approach. Power ticks up and he's a gold mine. Has 2 bombs in 150 PAs so not a complete 0. Has the hit tool and approach down to get on base.

Started 0 for 7 on the base paths been near perfect since.

Forgot to mention this dude stole over 50+ bags in the DSL last year and skipped complex ball completely.

Any prospects TOR targets specifically (they usually are the ones trading away prospects) and color me intrigued. He's been popping in a few models.

Pops at 20 overall on this model

Blue Jays’ Adrian Pinto Wrings Big Production From Small Frame

Of all the numbers that jump off the page when it comes to second baseman Adrian Pinto, the Blue Jays are making sure to look past the one people tend to notice first:

His height of 5-foot-6.

“The strike-zone discipline, contact rates and exit velo really pop,” Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said “That overrides any concerns about physical stature.”

In that way, the 19-year-old from Venezuela, acquired from the Rockies as part of the March 24 trade that subbed out Randal Grichuk with Raimel Tapia, is an intriguing new addition to Toronto’s farm system.

Kinda gives me Felix Valerio vibes

I really enjoy this column...great way to find gems for dynasty leagues so i figured I'd contribute a few names:

1) Mason Montgomery SP Rays.  Lefty K machine with low ERA

2) Carlos Jorge 2B/SS Reds.  Real young  but already drawing some Ozzie Albies comparisons.  Had a great DSL in 2021 and off to a good start in 2022.

3) Vaun Brown OF Giants.  Multi category contributions.  Might turn out to be a 10th round steal for SF.

Jack Leftwich is a guy that's grabbing my attention. A way too old for his level type that'd I'd like to see promoted, but the stats are amazing. Also has the perks of the pitching development of the Cleveland org.

FB sits in the upper 90s and his breaking ball is absurd. This one kinda went viral. I think the stuff looks big time.

Wow.  That is a wipeout slider.  Any idea of a third pitch?  If plus, I agree, this guy has legit upside.  Obviously, he needs a promotion into AA now against better bats.  And, if nothing else, with gas and that slider he could be a top end reliever down the road.

Wish I could answer but he's just recently popped on my radar myself. I'm going to assume that may be his issue since I've heard next to no chatter about him at all. But man if he could develop any type of 3rd offering...

If I find anything about that I'll post it

Soooooo I just went back and pulled old scouting reports and apparently his change up used to be the better offering than the slider which was still developing hmmmmm. Supposedly it had a 10 mph diff off the fastball. Hmmmm...

I wonder why he's only started 3 games this year then out-of 12 total appearances?  Do they want him to be a starter or reliever?

Cleveland has so many pitching prospects they have guys piggy back haha. Also could be an innings limit thing. Also, why he is probably stuck at low A.

Jack Leftwich update

7IP 2H 1R 1ER 1BB 9K. Love these longer outings tells me he's being efficient and throwing strikes.

Robinson Pina is on a tear too. Guy who's had the stuff, but never had control until recently. Think he gets a bump soon.

18 yo in full season ball. Take note. FG has him with 4 pitches of at least a 50. Velo has trended up since he was drafted too. Was under 90 mph and low sits low 90s touching 94. Plenty young enough to gain a tick or two further. Haven't been able to find anything on any additional gains since instructs at the complex level last year.

Bryan Woo - looks like the Mariners may have struck gold here in the later rounds. Has a heater that sits in the mid 90s with some nice arm side run and a solid breaker. Strike throwing machine so far in the early going. Moved him up from complex to full season ball just recently.

For those of you in really deep leagues with big farms, I keep hearing more and more positive things about C/1B Moises Ballesteros. He's showing surprising pop and his plate discipline has been really good. He's been putting on a show that has been overshadowing his teammate, the far more recognizable Cristian Hernandez.

He may not be very deep, or at least shouldn't be, but Ji Hwan-Bae MI PIT should be getting more hype than he does(which is none apparently). He's four months older than Miguel Vargas and playing just as well at AAA. The knock on Bae was his lack of power, but even that is coming around with a .171 ISO, 7HR, 26XBH in 67 games. He's also got 19SB this year as well. My only complaint would be his lack of hard contact and a few too many grounders, but when you're one of the youngest guys in AAA and have a 128 wRC+ I can overlook a thing or two.
