Fbaseballgod
This kid is my top pitching prospect in the minors, even over gore. He has 2 filthy MLB ready pitches (fastball/slider) and we’ve seen pitchers like Lamet thrive on that alone. He also has a better third pitch than Lamet in his changeup. He has great mechanics and is in a great organization for pitching. He’s dominated his entire life no matter where he’s pitched, and I don’t see that stopping. I’m calling my shot that Max Meyer is a future ace, so much that he’s the first pitching prospect I’ve ever perused aggressively in 4 years of deep dynasties (I prefer hitters). Honestly, if trade value wasn’t a thing I’d take him after Tork. But since the consensus is he’s much lower I’d probably pick some players before him even though I’m not as confident
Fbaseballgod
Any chance we see Meyer up this year? Fangraphs has his ETA at 2021, and the Marlins are getting decimated by pitching injuries. At the very least could we see him as a reliever a la Crotchet? I mean he's 22 years old already and ridiculously polished
Asprilla
I'm surprised by the 2021 ETA on Fangraphs. They're traditionally conservative but I've also seen Eric say he doesn't put a ton of thought into the call up dates. I'm high on Max as well but I'm skeptical he'll be much of a contributor this season.

Fbaseballgod
His slider is better than most MLB sliders. PROMOTE HIM NOW, MARLINS!!!!! He could be their closer easily
Fbaseballgod
5 2/3 innings, 9 k's, ridiculously dominant in his third professional start We don't talk about the second start
Asprilla
Another good outing. Surprised they took him out after 5 innings. Load management I suppose.

So exiting. He’s looked unhittable besides that second start. His slider is filthy
Fbaseballgod
Had a good start cut short by a blister follows it up with 6 innings, 1 ER, 9 k’s Third in the league in ERA behind Eder and Lodolo
BigPapi44
Very promising start for a new Mad Max. Actually, we should come up with a new moniker for him.

Fbaseballgod
"Marlins General Manager Kim Ng said she would like to see Max Meyer and Jake Eder see out the year in the Minors, their first year in professional ball." Drats
Fbaseballgod
Another 5 scoreless from Meyer, and this was without his best stuff (4 BB, 2 K’s). Kid is awesome, 1.59 ERA so far. Ironically his strikeout stuff hasn’t even been as advertised but we all know it’s there with that wipeout slider

Fbaseballgod
Stats before futures game: 54 innings. 1.67 ERA, 3.69 FIP. 9.00 K/9 and 4.5 BB/9 honestly, I may be picky but I was so confident in him dominating immediately that I kinda expected more WRT the strikeouts and walks. Can’t deny the results though and it’s his first profesional season and it’s AA

Fbaseballgod
Can't find a tweet, but 7-28 game: 5 IP, 2 ER, 7 K's Love the increase in K's lately. That slider is so filthy. I guarantee this guy could at least do as well as Adbert Alzolay is doing right now.

dontclapGonorrhea
Does this mean 6 man rotation? Not following them really this year or are they already in a 6 man?
