Ezekiel Elliott 2017 Season Outlook

Not a good way to start the season, but ultimately will come down to perspective, or more importantly... Goodell's perspective.

News recently broke that Zeke, in a St. Patricks Day Parade, pulled down a woman's shirt, exposing her bare breast to the crowd.

It's a TMZ article, but there is video proof.  This will be interesting for the NFL, but shortly after he reaches over to do it again, she slaps his hand... and then she flashes both of them to the entire crowd.

While the video is censored, I assume it still needs to be classified as NSFW.

Assuming no suspension, he's a top 3 back, top 4 pick.  In PPR I don't personally believe he belongs in the #1 overall discussion, but I wouldn't fault anyone for doing it either.

I think team personnel issues are more important than this boob story. The Cowboys lost Doug Free, who had started 107 of 112 games for them since 2010, to retirement. They lost Ronald Leary to free agency (Denver). Now they have to rely on Chaz Green, who has played in only 4 games in his first two NFL seasons due to injury; and a very up-and-down La'El Collins on the O-line. Should be an interesting year to see if the Cowboys still hold that Offensive Line Supremacy aura.

Dunbar is gone. You guys think Dallas uses Zeke more on passing downs this year?

I thought they took Zeke off the field a bit too often on third downs last year, i expect his target total and third down usage to rise this season.  That being said I'm keeping an eye on the McFadden situation. The early rumor was the Cowboys wanted to try and keep DMC/Dunbar but were shopping Morris.  Now that Dunbar is gone i think DMC becomes somewhat of a priority to keep as a multi tool compliment/third down option behind Zeke, so if he resigns it could be interesting to see how that effects Zeke's overall season third down use.  One thing we do know, Morris does not offer any sort of third down skill set.

If DMC does not return, get ready for the Zeke load to go UPUPUP.

"Profootballtalk believes the NFL could take Ezekiel Elliott's St. Patrick's Day parade video into account as it mulls whether to punish him for his alleged domestic violence incidents."

if this is true, the league/Goodell is truly lost, IMO.   Either that, or this "alleged" domestic violence case still has legs we aren't hearing about.  Law enforcement has declined charges after their investigation but yet, the NFL wants to continue probing this issue AND wants to add the Paddy's Day video to it for a possible punishment/suspension......i call BS

Suspended for that?

There was an article that came out the other day that said Gronk was recently caught on video burying his face in between a woman's breasts at a night club and that he should be punished as well. I gotta say that if motor-boating is wrong, I don't want to be right.

Pretty much a douchebag move by Elliott.

no argument here.  Should he be punished/suspended for it?  Should it be coupled with the alleged DV case that the law enforcement dropped all charges against?  If the answer is yes, i fully disagree.

I'd have no problem with a (light) suspension of the woman didn't consent or get anywhere close to implying so beforehand. But it should be a separate thing from the dv case. Character witnesses (essentially what this would be) don't make a ton of sense in determining whether something actually happened, and there is quite a large gap between dv and timberlaking.

me and some other roto members talked of this Gronk news just yesterday.  I find it odd that the SB winning TE isn't held to a similar standard Zeke is

if that lady lawyers up, files charges with video evidence as we see now, Zeke's prob in trouble and headed for suspension.  So far here locally in Dallas, i've not heard or read anything like that so far.  As of right now we have a really dumb, young Zeke who's def making poor choices, but is also not being charged with anything.  Its BS to throw out a possible suspension allegations for two incidents that have brought about ZERO charges so far, IMO.  Its even more stupid to lump them together

It's not for me to determine a punishment, but this is a data point that indicates something about his character and his not having learned any lessons from related experiences.

What if he just randomly did that to your girlfriend or your daughter... how would you feel then?

If the NFL wants to continue to attract a female audience, I am not sure there shouldn't be any repercussions here.

It's pretty hilarious right? Just Gronk being Gronk. Not sure why he get's a pass other than, off the field, there's not a mean bone in his body, not that I've ever heard anyway. No criminal background or accusations.

Zeke seems harmless as well other than the past accusation of DV. I doubt anything ever becomes of this incident other than a sit down with Jerra & Co.

God this is useless. People trying to make something out of nothing. Act like a pirate hooker, get treated like a pirate hooker. Nobody got hurt. Nobody is pressing charges. Far more crazy things happened in my college dorm. PC police and the Great Butthurt we call social media has gotten out of hand. Nothing to see here.

First, i do not in any way agree with what Zeke did in that video and if he exposed a relative on mine without her consent, i'd be upset.

For me, this is about taking allegations and making them fact for suspension. Image issues or not, don't botch Josh Brown's DV case but then pin a guy like Zeke down without proof and charges, IMO.

Also, you do make a good point "but this is a true data point indicating something about his character"   Given the microscope over Zeke's head its a terrible choice he's made at the parade.  I just think if the league is going to go down this rabbit hole of suspending guys for "character allegations" well then half the league should be suspended.

I think this speaks a lot to what your character is.  If a girl does not give consent to touch her like that then don't touch her.  If she doesn't care then it's not an issue.  It's as simple as that.  Just because a woman dresses like a pirate hooker does not make her one nor does it give consent to treat her as one.  Once again, if that woman gives consent then motor boat away my friend.
