Champ
I've been playing with the same bunch of my buddies for the last couple years and we have thrown around the idea of throwin some money in the league this year to keep everyone active until the end. We play with 12 teams and the top 6 make the playoffs. Any body who is currenly in a money league, how do you guys do the payout. Like does the winner get everything? Money divided up between top 3? Or should every team who makes the playoffs at minimum get their money back? We still haven't decided on a concrete amount that each team throws down, but these are just some ideas we're throwing around and I'm interested to see how others run their league. I've been playing with the same group for the last 7 years for the most part....were not all close friends but know each other. We do a 10 team CBS Commisioner League, made our own rules to our liking. Anyways we all do $100 entry (doesn't include cost of site..like $118 total). 6 teams make the play-offs.....its cut throat.... winner $800, second $200. We have a Stanley Cup style trophy that the champ gets to keep from draft to following draft, where he presents it to the new champ. He also get to inscribe the winners name on the trophy...lol I get to present it to myself this year. Made for two nice X-Mas's.
CHISOX
I've been with the same group of guys since 1988 I believe......been doing this when we had to rely on USA Today as our scoring system and put it down on paper. Anyways, our league is a 12 teamer keeper (2 keepers) at $200 per team. $3 per transaction. If a trade goes down, that's $6 bones right there......3 from each owner. 6 teams make the playoffs. Top 2 teams get a BYE. Our payouts are : 40% to the Champion 25% to the Championship loser 15% to the Toilet Bowl Winner 10% to the Toilet Bowl Loser 5% to the team with the highest score in any week (playoff or regular season game) 5% to the team with the most scored points at the end of the regular season We really like our format because it sucks to make the playoffs every year and not get a thing to show for it.........besides bad luck. We reward a team for making the Championship run. It's important to get the 2 Byes or win the 1st week of the playoffs to advance. Once you do that, you're in the $$$ and all your luck (hard work?) pays off somewhat.

mceclipse02
In my company league, our set up is as follows: $50 entry fee $20 trade fee (prevents people who give up to make bogus trades) $10 add/drop fee 70% - Champion 20% - 2nd Place 10% - 3rd Place I won it 2 years ago and came out with $1600. These attorneys up here throw in cash like if they were just wiping their butts with it.

My league is pretty much the same...down to the number of years played, the same CBS site and the trophy passed around (our winner drinks out of it on draft night)...$125 each (site costs included) and top two get money...I wouldn't mind seeing some weekly prizes to jazz it up a little...6 make playoffs, 4 play in toilet bowl for rights to top 4 picks for next season so interest stays high...I am the proud toilet bowl winner and have secured the rights to LT...
